The Simpsonville community is deeply mourning the heartbreaking loss of 16-year-old Malijah Jai’keem Williams, who tragically lost his life in a shooting early Monday morning, November 10, 2025. According to reports from the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, a 911 call was received around 4:16 a.m. regarding a gunshot victim at a residence located at 102 Parkgate Court. When deputies arrived, they discovered Malijah suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced deceased at the scene at 4:31 a.m. The Greenville County Coroner’s Office later confirmed his identity and conducted an autopsy; however, the official cause and manner of death remain under investigation.
Malijah’s passing has sent waves of grief throughout Simpsonville and beyond. At just sixteen years old, he was known for his bright personality, kind heart, and the promise of a future filled with potential. Friends and classmates remember him as someone who could make anyone smile — a young man full of laughter, dreams, and love for his family and friends. His presence brought light to those around him, and his loss is being felt deeply by all who knew him.
